Welcome to the Centre for Scientific
Enterprise (CSEL).
CSEL is a joint venture between London Business
School and UCL (University College London), established in
2000 to promote entrepreneurship within the fields of science
and technology. The Centre funds a wide range of courses,
seminars and student club activities at each university, as
well as funding activities linking them to each other.
The strategic drive to deliver this is focused
on bringing scientists and engineers from UCL together with
students and faculty from London Business School, in order
to develop the experience and expertise necessary to enhance:
|
|
UCL scientists'
understanding of the nature of technology-based
innovation and the best routes open to them to commercialise
them |
|
|
the School community's
understanding of the opportunity and risks of technology-based
innovation and how to manage them both efficiently
and effectively |
|
|
the new understanding
and skills that each of the apparently separate
groups can gain by working together. |
|

One of 13 Science Enterprise Centres in
the U.K., CSEL was cited as an example of best practice in
the DTI Innovation
Review 2003.
